Playmakers Nashville Code of Conduct

Playmakers Nashville is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for all members, partners, volunteers, speakers, staff, and event participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior within the Playmakers Nashville community and applies to all Playmakers-hosted programs, events, digital platforms, and affiliated activities.

Our Commitment

Playmakers Nashville exists to elevate, empower, and educate women in sports and related industries. We believe our community is strongest when built on mutual respect, integrity, collaboration, and accountability.

All participants are expected to contribute to a positive environment that supports learning, connection, and professional growth. Our values—belonging, respect, growth, integrity, and support—guide all expectations outlined below.

Expected Conduct

Members and participants are expected to:

  • Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and professionalism
  • Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes diverse backgrounds, identities, perspectives, and experiences
  • Engage in constructive, respectful dialogue, even in moments of disagreement
  • Act with integrity and honesty in all interactions
  • Follow all applicable laws, venue rules, and Playmakers Nashville policies
  • Respect personal boundaries, consent, and privacy
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries in all interactions
  • Represent Playmakers Nashville positively in both in-person and digital spaces

Unacceptable Conduct

The following behaviors are not tolerated within the Playmakers Nashville community:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind, including but not limited to behavior based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or professional status
  • Offensive, derogatory, or harmful language or behavior
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or inappropriate conduct
  • Bullying, threats, or aggressive behavior
  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with events, programming, or community engagement
  • Abuse or misuse of Playmakers Nashville platforms, events, or resources
  • Misrepresentation of affiliation, role, or authority within Playmakers Nashville

Professionalism at Events and Programs

Playmakers Nashville events are professional environments. Participants are expected to:

  • Engage respectfully with speakers, partners, sponsors, and fellow attendees
  • Follow event guidelines and instructions provided by staff or volunteers
  • Refrain from excessive or unsafe behavior, including substance misuse
  • Honor the purpose and integrity of educational and networking spaces
  • By attending Playmakers events, participants may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. Please notify staff if you prefer not to be included.

Digital & Community Platforms

This Code of Conduct applies to all Playmakers Nashville digital spaces, including email communications, social media, online forums, and member platforms. Members should:

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally
  • Avoid sharing confidential or private information without permission
  • Refrain from posting content that is misleading, harmful, or inconsistent with Playmakers Nashville’s values
  • This includes behavior on personal platforms when representing or directly engaging with the Playmakers community.
  • Harassment or misconduct occurring outside of official channels may still be addressed if it impacts the community.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to report it promptly. Reports may be made confidentially to Playmakers Nashville leadership or a designated representative. All reports will be taken seriously and handled with care and discretion. While we will make every effort to maintain confidentiality, information may be shared as necessary to appropriately address a situation. All reports should be made in good faith. Knowingly false or malicious reports may also be subject to review.

Retaliation against any individual who reports a concern or participates in an investigation will not be tolerated.

Enforcement

Playmakers Nashville reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code of Conduct. Actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Removal from an event or program
  • Suspension or termination of membership
  • Restriction from future participation
  • Notification of partners or authorities when required

This Code applies to behavior before, during, and after Playmakers-related interactions when such behavior impacts the community.

A Shared Responsibility

By participating in Playmakers Nashville, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and contribute to a community grounded in respect, professionalism, and shared purpose.
